How to Achieve that V-Shaped Face

How does one achieve that sharp chin and chiseled jaw look without going under the knife?

Well my friends, it’s not a difficult task. Firstly yes while it is about playing with the camera angles, it doesn’t hurt to have a little help from the outside as well.

Through a friend’s recommendation, I decided to visit Beauty Express for their V Line face slimming facial. Trust me when I said that I was slightly skeptical because c’mon, how much fat can our faces have? But she told me that was how she achieved her V-shaped face. So being vain, I decided to just give it a try.

It located near Novena MRT which was just one stop away from my office, so it was relatively easy for me to visit. They do offer an array of beauty services, even manicures and pedicures but I just went straight for the VLine and the usual extraction and masking facial.

I’ve been asking multiple times, whether facials really work. Yes, they do but only if you go for them regularly every 3-4 weeks. A discipline that I can never have haha. So no matter how good/expensive your facial is, like every beauty routine, if you don’t do it regularly and often the results will not stay for long.

Below it how a single bedded facial room looks like, mostly pink and quite cozy, lit with a chandelier. But I took a bigger double bedded room since I was doing the facial together with my friend. In my excitement, I did forget to take a picture of that room before we messed it up

I started off with the steaming of the face, followed by the usual extraction which was actually less painful than usual considering the last time I went for a facial was 4 months ago? The lady did complain that my pores were really congested. Ooops.

Skipping straight to the VLine procedure, my face was first covered with a clear gel before they started “zapping” different areas of my face, focusing mainly up and down my jaw line and cheeks. This lasted about 30 minutes.

It’s quite similar to IPL sessions but the “gun” is bigger and instead of the feeling of rubber bands snapping, you just feel the heat of the gun. I was told that the isolated heat from the “gun” doesn’t just burn the fats on your face off, but it also tightens the muscles there.

For those of you who feel that you have one side of the face that is bigger than the other, you can actually tell them to focus on that area for a longer time. That was actually what my friend did because she thought her right side was bigger hahaha what?? #tryingnottojudge

After the VLine, I finished off with a mask and I was done! Because it wasn’t a drastic procedure, you can’t expect a drastic change. But you know your face the best, seeing how you stare at it EVERYDAY. So I did see the difference and how I didn’t have to rely 100% on finding the right angle on camera just to achieve a sharp jaw.

This VLine effect doesn’t last forever but just 3 weeks.

And that is me after during the second week! I could compete with friends with small faces without even having to angle my face. On the left, it’s actually the friend who went and recommended me for the facial!

My Thoughts:

The effect is definitely not drastic but for such a simple and fast procedure, I honestly didn't except a huge change. But having to constantly take pictures, shoots, or selfies, I really did notice the difference.

For someone who doesn’t always remember her angles, this extra help from the facial really goes a long way.

I almost always get comments such as “Oh you look smaller in person and bigger in pictures” but during that month, I can safely say that my face looks smaller in pictures without even having to play with the camera angles. Whereas normally, I have to have my pictures retaken quite a few times before I’m satisfied because I can never get the angles right. Or for group pictures, I just have to suck my thumb and accept the fat looking pictures.

For those who are skeptical just like I was, you should give it a shot. But I feel if you want the effects to really last, this is a facial that you need to go for regularly just to maintain that V-shape look or maybe get an even sharper look.

Disclaimer: NO facial editing tools were used, only the lightings were upped to brighten the pictures. Yes, that is how I look without make up L
